New Year rolled in. Many of you started with a resolution of regular exercise and dropping off extra love handle added during the holiday meals, right?
My boyfriend and I also started workout program at home. I hate driving to a gym for workout, and honestly I don’t like exercise itself. Why can I not stay on couch reading my favorite book and shape up using my imagination?!
But after doing a couple of weeks of exercise, I like the result in my body, and how I feel.
I realized what motivates me to do exercise is the feeling of pleasure. REALLY good pleasure. I feel good pain during exercise. I feel opening pleasure when I finish and lay flat in my back (especially after the ab and inner thigh workout). I feel good about myself, and how my favorite dress fits in my body. Increase in Testosterone seems to make us desire each other more, and endorphin makes me high and calms down my stress level. Pleasure is motivating.
This made me think how much our body is made to feel pleasure. The older our body becomes, it seems the increase in pain not only for physical but for emotional and mental bodies, but who says that is the way?
Just like anything, use self-care and self-love to keep a good habit going, then our body can shape up and stay healthy. The body wants this. My mind wants more pleasure than pain. My ability to feel and stretch myself in the expression of pleasure is truly ecstatic.
Why don’t we do this? Why do we struggle?
Because we are stopped by pain. Yes, it hurts in the beginning. The more we are out of the shape, the harder it gets to get back to pleasure body. I am not talking about just physical aspect, right?
The ability to produce and feel pleasure is a skill and habit. The more pleasure we can generate, we have more energy towards the desired state in all area of health and well being. If we don’t take care, then gravity sags down. It requires intention, motivation and desire to step up and move forwards. That is a strength of spirit. We move through the growing pain, and are rewarded by pleasure to feel, accept and dream more.
If you are feeling too much pain and not much pleasure, consider the possibility your emotional and mental body are also in imbalance, like the physical body gets becomes overweight and stagnates. When you have enough energy, you can burn not only the extra fat you want to get rid of, the energy will burn off any emotional upsets and mental noise you accumulated from the past.
Just like an exercise, you need to decide what you want, and decide to get it no matter what. You will sweat. You will swear.. But you will make it. You will feel pleasure. Trust me. Your body is made to feel pleasure. You will want more of this soon. You will feel really really good. I will take you there as a coach for your emotional and mental fitness.
